Did you know that 68% of Bronx and 55% of Brooklyn children below the age of 18 live either in or near poverty? In addition, 63% of New York City residents have earned less than a high school degree. These individuals struggle to find employment and to support their families, often having no time to invest in their children’s education. The end result is that many children are at risk of being left behind.
Children are our most precious asset for securing a strong, safe future. Now, more than ever, we need to focus on positive influences on such impressionable minds. We are asking for your support to help us ensure that Madison’s members continue to learn and grow, stay connected to mentors, and persevere with their school work during this uncertain time.
