Learn why a Precipitator is key in preventing Restaurant kitchen fires.

United Public Adjusters and Appraisers called in a Fire Suppression Expert to provide us with a detailed report as to what was damaged and the cost to repair. While in the rear yard, our restaurant client who had a fire (Not related to Precipitator) discussed the requirement of utilizing a Precipitator

  1. Electrostatic Precipitators work by charging the smoke and grease particles as they pass through an ionization field. The charged particles then go into a collection cell made up of oppositely charged metal plates that push and/or pull the charged particles onto the plates and out of the air stream.
  2. The airflow will remain constant & continue removing the grease and smoke from the kitchen area. As you can see in the video, the now Black Brick Wall was when the prior restaurant didn’t change their filters or use a Precipitator.

If you look closely, that is a residential Hi-Rise Building with air condition units within the windows. You would hate to live in a building where your AC took on restaurant grease.
