The Annual Bronx Advisory Board Great Futures Gala hosted its annual fundraiser to support the Madison Square Boys & Girls Club on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at Villa Barone Manor.
The Club, a longstanding youth-oriented community resource in the Bronx, was the beneficiary of the gala which raised over $100k in support of this outstanding organization. The evening’s Bronx Champion of Youth honorees were April Horton, Director of External Affairs & Governmental Affairs Professionals at Verizon, and Gustavo Rivera, New York State Senator representing the 33rd Senate District.

This festive evening was marked by music, dining, and dancing as well as a ceremony to recognize the achievements of two Club members, Madiagne Niang and Nazhir Williams, who have demonstrated leadership skills developed at the Club for the benefit of their communities. The ceremony was followed by an exciting and spirited auction which included tickets to the Broadway shows, Hamilton and the Lion King, as well as Yankee Suite tickets.

The leading sponsors for this event included, United Public Adjusters (Gold Sponsor), Verizon (Gold Sponsor), Walmart (Gold Sponsor), Commercial Risk Services, Frank & Denise Capaccio (Silver Sponsor), Derrick Lovett, President of MBD Community Housing (Silver Sponsor), Approved Storage & Waste Hauling, Inc. (Bronze Sponsor), John & Cassondra Emrick (Bronze Sponsor), Montefiore Medical Center (Bronze Sponsor), and Paganelli Family (Bronze Sponsor).

As a member of the Bronx Advisory Board for the Madison Square Boys & Girls Club, United Public Adjusters & Appraisers has played an integral role in supporting this community resource. At the Gala, UPA was represented by Co-Founders Philip and Michael Maltaghati, and Sales Lead, Anthony Delorenzo. “It gives our team great pleasure to support this worthy organization, the Madison Boys & Girls Club. Its initiatives are far-reaching and enable Bronx youth to learn the skills and mindset they require to achieve, not only academically, but in their future lives,” Philip Maltaghati states. “It is an honor to be associated with this great cause and, over time, to see the many personal success stories it has and continues to bring about,” he concludes.

The Madison Boys & Girls Club provides vital after-school and summer programs for children and teens in some of New York City’s most underserved communities. Since 1884, Madison Square Boys & Girls Club has provided a safe, stable, and completely supportive environment for youth living in the Bronx and Manhattan. The club provides a lifeline for local young persons by providing guidance and the tools they require to not only succeed but to thrive. At this clubhouse environment, each receives developmental and personal empowerment tools they need to achieve in school and beyond.

At this safe haven, the Club encourages boys and girls to participate in activities that build supportive, healthy, and positive relationships. Additionally, all participants are offered many opportunities to explore new interests and develop additional skills. As part of its commitment to instill positive reinforcement, Madison Square Boys & Girls Club members are recognized for their accomplishments. Their peers and the staff at the Club strive to ensure that each of their members makes progress toward their priority goals so that each achieves positive outcomes. These outcomes include academic success, building good character and citizenship, and learning how to live a healthy lifestyle.

Similar to the guidance and direction that Madison’s staff provides to the Club’s youth, United Public Adjuster & Appraisers advocate for their clients who require assistance and support to receive a just claim settlement from their insurance carriers.
