Philip’s upbringing in a household deeply rooted in advocacy significantly shaped his passion for representing others. With a mother in management and a father serving as a Union Business Agent, he was immersed in an environment where championing the rights of individuals was a daily discussion. This early exposure instilled in him a lifelong dedication to speaking on behalf of others and advocating for their needs.

In his previous role at one of the nation’s largest investor-owned energy-delivery companies, with approximately $15 billion in annual revenues, Philip had a distinguished background in electrical systems and substation operations. His decade-long expertise (2002 – early 2012) encompassed the comprehensive management of electrical systems, including transformers, circuit breakers, and switchgear, coupled with a robust understanding of technical systems for efficient substation monitoring and control. His commitment to operational excellence was demonstrated through his leadership in managing maintenance teams, coordinating with contractors, and training junior staff.

In 2005, Philip and his partner (brother Michael) were introduced to the insurance industry by an invitation to assist property owners with damage assessments after Hurricane Katrina. Witnessing how insurance companies handled claims—often leading to delays, underpayments, or denials—they recognized a need for more professional Public Adjusters in the Tri-State area. This realization led to the establishment of United Public Adjusters & Appraisers, Inc. (licensed in 2008), a full-service, self-performing, and transparent public adjusting company. The firm stands out for its deep understanding of real estate ownership/management, construction repair costs, and insurance policy interpretation, ensuring clients’ claims are properly paid and expedited within the shortest period.

Over the past 19 years, Philip has been involved in managing claims from various natural disasters, including Hurricanes Irene, Sandy, Irma, Henri, Ida, and Ian, as well as winter storms, macrobursts, microbursts, and nor’easters. He has represented and managed billions of dollars worth of claims, handling both large residential and commercial properties. His extensive experience has allowed the firm to help clients in over 20 states.

Philip’s role as CEO involves active engagement in claims management, strategic negotiation planning, mentoring, and ensuring seamless coordination across various departments. These departments include construction estimating, personal property inventory and valuations, and preparing business interruption and extra expense claims. Additionally, he drives growth initiatives, leads public relations efforts, and fosters brand awareness. His expertise has garnered him recognition as an insurance industry expert, including multiple appearances on Channel 7’s *On Your Side with Nina Pineda*, highlighting unfair claims practices by insurance companies and sharing valuable tips on property damage claims.

Philip’s personal volunteer experience includes serving on the board (including a term as President) of an 800+ unit, 57-story condominium in Midtown East, NY, for three years. He also serves as Vice President of the Executives’ Association of NYC and is an active member and supporter of the Queens Chamber of Commerce.

Community engagement is particularly close to Philip’s heart. As a child, his grandfather ensured he volunteered at the Kiwanis Club, instilling the value of giving back to the community. Today, as a parent, Philip is passionate about working with various non-profits, especially those involving children. He applies his business acumen and network to improve operations and create larger impacts for youth programs. He currently serves as Vice President of the Bronx Advisory Board at the Madison Square Boys and Girls Club and has been on the committee for the Annual Tunnel to Towers New York Golf Classic for the past two years, raising over $100k.

Philip also donates to various charities, including Contractors for Kids, Kids for Kids Foundation, Marty Lyons Foundation, Friends of Karen, Michael Magro Foundation, EPIC Long Island, and Suffolk County Police Foundation, among others.

Looking ahead, Philip is focused on expanding his firm’s national footprint through strategic acquisitions and building a stronger team to assist even more policyholders. His dedication to helping others, whether through professional achievements or community service, underscores his genuine commitment to making a difference in people’s lives.
