Michael Maltaghati, the Co-founder of United Public Adjusters, embodies dedication and resilience in the public adjusting industry. His early career in real estate as a broker and appraiser laid the foundation for his exceptional client relations and negotiation skills.

Michael holds an Associate’s degree in Marketing Management from Kingsborough Community College and a Bachelor’s in Economics from Queens College. In 2005, a call to assist with Hurricane Katrina damages led him to New Orleans, where he learned the intricacies of property damage assessment. Returning to New York, he co-founded United Public Adjusters with his brother Philip in 2008, driven by a shared vision of ethical practice and client advocacy.

Michael’s role involves daily inspections of losses, client interactions, and negotiating with insurance companies on behalf of clients. His hands-on approach ensures that every claim is handled with precision and care, reflecting UPA’s commitment to excellence. Despite the industry’s challenges, Michael finds motivation in securing just settlements for clients, often turning lowball offers into substantial recoveries. He has represented and managed a billion dollars worth of claims, handling both large residential and commercial properties. His extensive experience has allowed the firm to help clients in over 20 states.

What truly drives Michael is his unwavering commitment to helping people during their most vulnerable times. He understands the emotional and financial strain that property damage can cause and takes pride in alleviating this burden for his clients. Michael approaches each case with empathy and determination, ensuring that clients feel supported and informed throughout the entire process. His goal is to secure the maximum possible settlement, providing clients with the resources they need to rebuild their lives and properties.

Michael’s involvement in various charitable activities highlights his deep-rooted sense of community and compassion. He believes in giving back and making a positive impact, both professionally and personally. Michael donates to various charities, including Contractors for Kids, Kids for Kids Foundation, Marty Lyons Foundation, Friends of Karen, Michael Magro Foundation, EPIC Long Island, and Suffolk County Police Foundation, among others.
