Residential Wind Damage
High winds can lead to many property damage problems such as pitched roof shingles blowing off or even worse, the entire roof can collapse. In many cases leaky roofs and leaky windows can contribute to extensive interior water damage. Property damage from wind can also include trees and fences falling on your property. An unexpected byproduct of wind damage are flooded basements. When wind takes out the power and you don’t have a backup generator, the sump pump will not work and basement flooding from sump pump failures or overflow is imminent.
Business Interruption / Commercial Wind Damage / Business Wind Damage
High winds can cause commercial flat roofs to collapse while downed power lines can cause businesses to suffer business interruption. With the halt of construction, there are many unfinished projects in which scaffolding, cranes could collapse, and wind pressure can cause leaky windows in high rises. Signage will be damaged or blown off, endangering nearby structures. Since non-essential businesses are currently closed, it is more difficult to check up on properties, and by the time the damage is discovered, the cost to fix the damage can be astronomical.
