Now Hiring: Insurance Claims Manager

Location: New York Office (Tri-State Area)
Full-Time | Industry Experience Required

United Public Adjusters & Appraisers, Inc. (UPA) is seeking an experienced and organized Claims Manager to lead the coordination, strategy, and day-to-day movement of residential and commercial property damage insurance claims. This leadership-level role is ideal for a motivated professional with deep industry knowledge who thrives in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a portfolio of active claims—ensuring timely follow-up, communication, and resolution
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for claim status updates, both internally and externally
  • Manage and mentor internal claims adjusters and support staff
  • Strategize and coordinate claim documentation, including estimates, engineering reports, and expert assessments
  • Engage in settlement negotiations and manage key carrier correspondence
  • Review insurance policies, evaluate coverage, and guide strategy on claim disputes or denials
  • Collaborate with our field adjusters, estimators, forensic CPAs, and legal partners as needed
  • Ensure files are fully documented, compliant, and prepared for appraisal, mediation, or litigation if necessary

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in property insurance claims (public adjusting, carrier-side, or IA firm experience)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex claims and support a growing team
  • In-depth knowledge of policy language, coverages, and claim handling procedures
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
  • Experience working with Xactimate and other estimating/reporting tools
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with a process-driven mindset
  • NYS Public Adjuster License preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to travel locally for meetings, joint inspections, or site visits when needed

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $110-130k annually
