About the Role

As a future Claims Advocate, you’ll use your financial and analytical skills to support individuals and businesses recovering from property damage and loss. You’ll be trained to:

Analyze & Advocate

• Evaluate Business Interruption, Builder’s Risk, and Property Damage claims
• Use financial data to build strong, evidence-based cases
• Collaborate with legal teams, consultants, and insurers to secure fair outcomes

Communicate with Purpose

• Guide clients through complex claims with clarity and empathy
• Educate policyholders on their rights and documentation needs
• Challenge unfair insurance calculations and negotiate better settlements

Master the Details

• Prepare supplemental claims and financial narratives
• Track expenses, reconcile receipts, and validate depreciation recovery
• Support claims involving personal property, inventory, and business assets

Who You Are

• Experienced in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or Insurance Claims
• Detail-oriented and confident working with financial documentation
• A clear communicator with empathy and sound judgment
• Eager to learn and become a Licensed Public Adjuster within months

We need a boots-on-the-ground professional who can accurately evaluate structural damage and prepare insurance-compliant repair estimates for both residential and commercial properties.

This is a critical role in helping our clients recover from property damage due to fire, water, storms, and more. You’ll be the eyes in the field—inspecting properties, spotting hidden damages, and producing clear, accurate scopes of work that support the claims process.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site property inspections across the Tri-State area (NY, NJ, CT), with occasional travel outside the region as needed
• Prepare detailed damage assessments and repair estimates using Xactimate or similar platforms
• Identify code upgrades, hidden damages, and additional scopes often missed by carrier adjusters
• Collaborate with internal team members including public adjusters, contents specialists, and claim managers
• Support claims through documentation, photographs, and expert insights during negotiations
• Participate in joint inspections and adjuster meetings when required

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in property damage estimating or a related construction field
• Proficiency with Xactimate (REQUIRED)
• Strong understanding of residential and/or commercial construction practices
• Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license (REQUIRED)
• Ability and willingness to travel throughout the Tri-State area—and occasionally beyond
• Excellent organizational and written communication skills
• Self-motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented

• Advanced Microsoft Excel: 5 years
• Cost Estimating: 5 years
