1ST COVID-19 COMMUNITY COMFORT MISSION COMPLETED!

MISSION: Wyandanch-Wheatley Heights Ambulance Corp.

On Wednesday, April 8TH, 2020, United Public Adjusters & Appraisers, Inc. (UPA) completed our first Community Comfort Mission. We provided 1,000 KN-95 masks to the Wyandanch-Wheatley Heights Ambulance Corp. (WWHAC)

UPA was introduced to the Wyandanch-Wheatley Heights Ambulance Corp. through managing the chief’s property insurance claim. This existing client called us as a resource, knowing that we are community advocates and when UPA was made aware of the need for masks, we jumped at the opportunity to offer help. UPA also felt compelled to help when we learned that these fearless volunteers donate their time to serve the community in addition to their regular jobs!

ABOUT THE WYANDANCH-WHEATLEY HEIGHTS AMBULANCE CORP.

Since 1979, the WWHAC non-profit provides Advanced Life Support and Emergency Medical Services within the Wyandanch Wheatley Heights Ambulance Improvement District, which encompasses four square miles. They operate 24 hours, 7 days a week. The WWHAC was the first in New York State to provide an Advanced Life Support First Responder Car and the first to utilize Supervisors’ vehicles to further facilitate operations.

The Wyandanch Wheatley Heights Corporation consists of the Board of Directors, its employees, and volunteer members. Emergency personnel responds to approximately 2500 calls for assistance every year. They sponsor Explorer Post #1289 for youths 14 to 18 years old to get them involved with the EMS at an early age, encouraging future membership. In addition to responding to emergencies, their members spend many hours training for many different types of emergency services.
