On April 3rd, 2016, A high wind warning was in effect for the entire Tri-State Area and Gov. Andrew Cuomo stated “With strong winds and cold temperatures expected to continue throughout the day, New Yorkers should plan ahead, exercise caution and ensure their homes are ready to weather the impacts of the storm”. After the storm was over, United Public Adjusters support team was contacted to assess and handle numerous property damage claims from New York City to Long Island. As illustrated in the attached pictures from a Rockaway Park, Queens multi-unit building, the high winds caused a 60 foot tree to suddenly fall into the building which later caused the N YS Department of buildings to place a VACATE ORDER.
This disaster displaced numerous tenants and our firm immediately assessed, documented, and negotiated a 79% increase from the first building insurance company offer to ensure the property owner was fully compensated for their covered damages while minimizing the business interruption.
“Thanks Phil, excellent job!” – Jack & Matthew S. – Rockaway Park, NY
